Management Accounting was started in early 2009 to help individuals and businesses with their tax prep and accounting needs. We realized that many individuals were getting stressed at tax time because they were either trying to prepare their returns themselves or were not confident in the person preparing them for them.
Similarly, businesses were having difficulty navigating the regulatory maze laid out for them. Business owners were spending too much time on accounting and not enough time on their business. Our idea at the time was simple: Let’s ease the pain of accounting work by having our accountants handle it for our clients with professionalism and care.
That remains our simple purpose today.
MEET THE BEANCOUNTERS
BOB LANGWORTHY, MBA, EA
President
Bob founded Management Accounting in 2009 as a way to combine years of business ownership experience and an MBA to come alongside individuals and small business owners. Prior to founding the accounting practice, Bob was a controller for a Portland-area company and prior to that, he was a founding partner in a greenhouse business. Lessons learned through those work experiences are what inspired Bob to go into accounting. His time is now spent preparing tax returns, consulting for clients, and managing the incredible team that he gets to work with.
Bob graduated from Wheaton College in 1998 with a BS in Geology, Wheaton College Graduate School in 1999 with an MA in Missions and Intercultural Studies, and USM School of Business in 2007 with an MBA in Finance.
Bob and his family reside in Bowdoinham and he can often be found outdoors once tax season is over.
JASON ALBAUGH, CPA
Senior Accountant
Jason Albaugh has over 25 years of both public and industry accounting experience. He has worked previously for Ernst & Young, LLP as an experienced auditor. He has worked as a financial systems administrator developing accounting subsystems and automating manual accounting processes for Qualex Inc., a Kodak company and as CFO of a small start-up company publicly traded on the London Stock Exchange, Telit Wireless Solutions, Inc. He has worked for two other public accounting firms focusing on all accounting and finance matters including tax, payroll, audit, and small business consulting before joining Management Accounting in 2011.
Jason graduated from Pepperdine University in 1992 with a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies Political Science with a French minor. His second undergraduate degree was earned from Pepperdine University in 1996 with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. He earned his Certified Public Accountant license from the state of North Carolina in 1999 and is now licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in Maine in good standing.
Originally from Southern California, he now lives in Brunswick, Maine.
JOSHUA TRACEY, CPA
Staff Accountant
Joshua Tracey, CPA received a B.S. in Accounting from Grove City College in Pennsylvania and has had several years of accounting experience in public, private, and industry. Joshua has a passion for using his expertise to provide superior advice and services to his clients. He also provides CPA support and services to Maine companies with federal contracts. Under the TAP program, Joshua guides companies in preparing their indirect cost rate, and assists in providing budgets and justification support. He has worked at Management Accounting since January 2022.
In his spare time, he enjoys recording music, podcasting, reading biographies and anything by David McCullough, spending time with his wife, and chasing his toddler daughter around the house.
Amy Gaudreau
Office Manager
Amy Gaudreau has been with our firm since 2019 managing daily operations. She has a wide range of work experience, which lends itself quite well to balancing the variety of tasks and skills needed to effectively manage a busy and growing accounting office. She enjoys meeting and establishing relationships with people, and is happy to assist whenever possible to ensure that our valued clients are pleased with their experience at Management Accounting.
When Amy is not at the office you will likely find her on the golf course, kayaking, or enjoying time with family and friends, preferably someplace warm and sunny!
Jodi Brewer
Staff Bookkeeper
Jodi has an associate’s Degree in Accounting which has allowed her to work in the accounting field for over a decade. Jodi has experience with both for-profit and non-profit businesses. She is currently a small business owner herself, operating an aquaculture farm with her husband.
Jodi enjoys working with others to help them achieve their goals. Her goal is always to provide accurate and timely information so that her clients can make the best decisions possible for their businesses. With a focus on tailoring her bookkeeping service to suit you and your business needs.
Jodi Brewer is a lover of the outdoors. She enjoys hiking, kayaking, and fishing in her free time. Jodi loves to explore new places and take on adventures – she’s always up for an adventure! Her favorite place to be is by the coast, enjoying the sound of the waves and the salty air.

For the last 5 or so years, we have been using one of the Big Tax Preparation Company’s thinking since they were so big, we would be getting the best service with the best pricing. This year I discovered I was wrong, very wrong.
